All Access @ The Classic

All Access @ The Classic are networking events that include engaging panel discussions held alongside the various HBCU classic football game weekends across the state.  These events offer unique opportunities for tech talent and entrepreneurs to connect in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, all while gaining valuable insights and resources to enhance their individual enterprises.

Practical Startup Strategies

The Alabama Collective has partnered with  Auburn University’s Lowder Center for Family Business & Entrepreneurship to provide a series of training workshops for current and aspiring entrepreneurs. Attendees can expect to learn valuable skills and techniques to help launch, scale, and grow their business.

Greek Mixer

Blacks in Tech

The “Blacks in Tech and Innovation Roundtable” is a cornerstone event in our ongoing community conversation series, designed to foster dialogue and development in the tech sector. Held in notable venues like the Lab on Dexter in downtown Montgomery, this roundtable and panel discussion brings together a diverse array of influential voices, from local government leaders to tech industry innovators.

SLOSS Tech

Sloss Tech is a hub for Birmingham’s tech community, where founders, startups, and companies can share ideas, build relationships and push the boundaries of innovation. During this annual conference, The Alabama Collective partners with Innovate Alabama to host the HBCU Innovation Experience Lounge and Digital Playground.  The Lounge & Digital Playground highlights Alabama’s 14 HBCUs while curating insightful conversations about innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.  Our partners, Bronze Valley and Ed Farm, showcased innovative programming and technology committed to elevating minority tech and entrepreneurial talent.

Innovate Alabama
(UAB) Hackathon

Open to students across Alabama, the Innovate Alabama Hackathon, hosted in collaboration with The University of Birmingham at Alabama,  is a melting pot of innovation and creativity. Each year brings a new problem to address, igniting the entrepreneurial spirit in participants.

The top teams are awarded substantial cash prizes, mentoring, and grant funding, underlining our commitment to nurturing and empowering Alabama’s emerging talent in entrepreneurship and tech innovation.
