Gov Tech Networking Social

@Magic City Classic

Join us on October 23rd for an exclusive networking social for Black tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and government leaders.

Bridging the Tech Gap

Despite making up 13% of the U.S. population, Black professionals represent only 7% of the computing workforce. This gap is even more evident in large tech companies, where Black representation in technical roles has only increased by 1% between 2014 and 2021.

The Alabama Collective is dedicated to reversing these trends by elevating minority tech talent and entrepreneurs. Our mission is clear: we are building a future where diversity, innovation, and economic growth are not only encouraged but realized. Through events, initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we aim to open doors for underrepresented communities to thrive in tech and entrepreneurship.

In collaboration with the Fearless Institute and Hutch, we’re proud to drive change within the GovTech sector, fostering environments where Black tech professionals can connect, share expertise, and make a lasting impact.

About the Event

This brings us to the Magic City Classic—featuring Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University, two powerhouse institutions with close ties to Alabama’s largest employers of IT talent, Maxwell and Gunter Air Force Bases, and Redstone Arsenal. These schools play a pivotal role in our state’s workforce and economic development.

Join us for the GovTech Networking Social @ Magic City Classic, a one-of-a-kind event, where Black tech professionals, entrepreneurs, HBCU alumni, and government leaders come together to network, engage, and drive change in the GovTech sector. This is your opportunity to be part of a movement that’s increasing diversity and representation in tech.
