The Alabama Collective, in partnership with Pivot Tech, proudly announces the successful completion of its Data Analytics Boot Camp, marking a significant milestone in efforts to prepare diverse talent across Alabama for high-growth careers in the tech sector.
Launched in late October 2025 and concluding in mid-April 2026, the fully virtual, instructor-led program empowered participants — including college students, recent graduates, career changers, and aspiring professionals — to gain 250 hours of hands-on instruction from experienced industry leaders. The boot camp was intentionally designed with accessibility and flexibility in mind, making it possible for individuals with little to no prior tech experience to successfully transition into technology careers. Participants attended evening and weekend virtual classes, allowing them to balance learning with work, school, and personal commitments.
The Data Analytics Boot Camp equipped participants with the mindset and technical tools needed to excel as data analysts. Through a curriculum that covered Microsoft Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL), Power BI, and Python, students learned to clean, analyze, and visualize data, culminating in capstone projects that demonstrated their practical capabilities. Program graduates are now qualified to step into data analyst roles in industries ranging from healthcare and business to education and technology.
Each graduate benefited from a learning environment that combined real-world tools, collaborative group challenges, and individualized mentorship. Participants also gained direct exposure to the platforms and techniques used by top employers, bridging the gap between academic training and workforce readiness.
“Our mission is to create inclusive pathways into high-growth careers, and this partnership with Pivot Tech continues to advance that mission in a powerful way,” said Charisse Stokes, Executive Director of The Alabama Collective. “This program didn’t just teach technical skills — it unlocked opportunity. We’re incredibly proud of our graduates and excited to see how they use this experience to drive change in their careers and communities.”
The wrap-up of this program reinforces The Alabama Collective’s broader commitment to building a more diverse, innovative, and empowered workforce in Alabama and beyond. By offering accessible training in one of today’s most critical tech disciplines, the initiative continues to open doors for underrepresented individuals seeking to thrive in the digital economy.
